Chicago, Illinois (United States of America) - "Hoka One One Chicago Half Marathon & 5k". Celebrate the return of in-person races Sunday, September 26, 2021 with the 24th annual running of the Hoka One One Chicago Half Marathon & 5K, a signature event produced by Life Time. The Chicago Half Marathon & 5K is centered around Chicago's historic Jackson Park, once home to the 1893 World Columbian Exposition. The course highlights Chicago's historic south shore and features a traffic-free Lake Shore Drive - the only Chicago race to completely shut down this main transportation artery. Runners traverse the streets of Hyde Park and the Museum of Science and Industry Campus before taking on the north and south Lake Shore Drive lanes and finishing at the Statue of the Republic or "Golden Lady" as she's known to locals. Race day is capped off in our Finish Festival that provides access to adult beverages for athletes over 21, live music, race merchandise, a stretching are courtesy of Athletico, and a sponsor village. We looking forward to racing with you in September! www.chicagohalfmarathon.com

St. Charles, Illinois (United States of America) - "Hops for Hope 5k". Project Mobility is hosting our 5th annual 5K beer run. Hops for Hope 5K is a twist on the traditional 5K! The event is timed and the course is certified, whether you are a serious runner or walker who loves beer, this event is for you. We have 4 different options this year; In-Person 5K with Beer Stops, In-Person 5K with No Beer Stops, Virtual 5K and Awards Ceremony Only. The In-Person 5K will start at the beautiful Mount Saint Mary Park in St. Charles and head towards Geneva on the scenic path through Wheeler Park and ends back at Mount Saint Mary Park for the Award Ceremony! Proceeds benefit Project Mobility's mission to bring adaptive cycling opportunities to the lives of children, adults, and wounded service members with emotional and physical challenges. THAT'S A WEIRD TWIST?! We think you mean delicious and fun! Throughout the 5K there will be 6 Refueling Stations (Beer Stops) featuring local craft breweries handing out 3-ounce beer samples to runners. The Award Ceremony will feature a live band, more beer, food and Adaptive Bike Giveaway Presentation. All runners must be 21 years or older and show a valid ID day of the race. As you know 2020 was a tough year for many and this has been true with Project Mobility. Our 3 largest fundraisers in 2020 were either postponed, changed to virtual or canceled. Everything we do at Project Mobility relies HEAVILY on these events. We are still trying to recover from such a tough year. Those with disabilities are still in need, actually in need more than ever with more families staying home and doing more outdoor/safe activities such as bike rides. It may sound like such a simple activity but to those with mobility challenges (along with the hefty price tag of an adaptive bike) makes it nearly impossible for them to enjoy the freedom of mobility without our help. Adaptive bikes provide life changing mobility, strength, self-esteem and the ultimate freedom for children, adults and veterans with disabilities. Cycling restores the possibilities to those whom are often told by society that their life is about limitations. Please consider joining us today! Not comfortable with an in person event yet? No worries! We will have a virtual option for those not ready yet or for those that live too far to attend in person. Click "Virtual" when registering! Participants registered by 9/23 are guaranteed a Race T-Shirt and all additional swag purchased. Virtual 5K Price includes shipping of (1) T-shirt and finisher medal. Any additional items will be an additional fee and we will reach out with additional shipping cost. www.runsignup.com/Race/IL/StCharles/HopsForHope?raceRefCode=xZJ1CnDG

Vernon Hills, Illinois (United States of America) - "Des Plaines River Trail Half Marathon, Marathon, 50 Mile". Half-Marathon, Marathon and 50 Mile Ultra Marathon along the beautiful and fast Des Plaines River Trail in Lake County, Illinois. This is a truly special running course. The DPR Trail is a wide, crushed gravel track, free of roots and rocks, and very flat. All of the major road crossings are managed by way of bridges or viaducts (with only 4 minor road crossings along the whole 50 Mile course, 2 on the Marathon course, and none for the Half-Marathon course). This is a great track through alternating lush forests and open wetlands. With cool temperatures expected, and given the flat terrain and ideal running surface, you'll find these to be extremely fast courses.
