Scappoose, Oregon (United States of America) - "Run With Neil 1K, 3K, 5K virtual, 6K, 10K". Join us for a one-of-kind run through the parks and hills of Scappoose, Oregon. The 1K route circles Veteran's Park and is suitable for kids and walkers alike. The 1k is also a great option for those with limitations or disabilities to participate. The 3k is a new addition this year, perfect for new runners or those looking for a shorter distance. The 6K run/walk is mostly flat, capping with a short hill climb that ends with snow-capped mountain views. The 10K route is the crown jewel. After splitting from the 6K flat portion, it meanders through the wooded hillside of Scappoose, rewarding runners with the final 1K downhill portion with views of Mt Hood, Rainier & St. Helens. Run With Neil is a non-profit that was formed by Neil's family and community members as a way to address the physical and emotional health of kids in the community of Scappoose. Neil Hoffmann, a Scappoose High School junior, was a kind, compassionate athlete that prided himself on being a good teammate, and an exceptional friend. Neil loved running, photography and helping others. We are Neil's runners now. He has passed the baton to us, and we are honored to begin the race of ensuring the youth of Scappoose have the resources to improve their physical and mental well-being. Funds raised will go directly to physical and mental health resources for school aged kids. Some of the ways we help are creating mentorships between youth of various ages, sponsorship of athletes to participate in camps aimed at improving physical and mental health and overcoming financial barriers to provide athletes with equipment to participate. This race is part of the Scappoose Adventure Festival. After the event, enjoy food, booths from local vendors and free activities for kids and adults! www.runwithneil.org
