Seattle, Washington (United States of America) - "Seattle Ghost 50k, Marathon and Half". NW Endurance Events is excited to host the Seattle Ghost 50k, Marathon and 1/2 Marathon. We know you will enjoy this low key iconic race. A portion of the proceeds from this race goes directly to NW Ultra's which is a nonprofit organization raising money to donate to various charities, our favorite is feeding the hungry in Seattle. Our events include 13.1 mile half marathon, 26.2 mile full marathon and 50 kilometer races. Seattle Ghost starts at Ferdinand Street Boat Launch - about 0.5 miles north of Seward Park in Seattle. Parking is limited to volunteers and finish area recovery so park off South Ferdinand Street in the nearby neighborhoods. The course shuts down at 2:00 pm so plan accordingly. We have excellent volunteers, aid stations about every 3 miles, finisher medals, hoodies, covered recovery area with hot food and cold beverages. There will be 4 porta-potties at the start/finish and one at the Leschi aid station. The sidewalk nature of this course does not allow for dogs, strollers, or wheelchairs (sorry). From its humble beginnings in 1970 when a group of friends from the University of Washington decided to hold their own marathon, the Seattle Marathon Family of Events has grown into one of the largest combination marathon/half marathon in the Northwest. That first marathon 49 years ago sported less than 30 runners. This year, 8,000 participants are expected for the marathon and half marathon walking and running events. Kennewick, Washington (United States of America) - "Annual Lampson Cable Bridge Run". This is the 41st edition. A tradition in December, this event features 1 mile, 5K and 10K races. With 9 age divisions and a wheelchair division; everyone from the kids to the grandparents can participate. Don't forget to get some refreshments at the finish line to warm you after the race. TIME & DATE: All three runs begin at 9:00 am, Saturday, Dec. 21. NO PETS ALLOWED IN RACE. Chip timing will be used by all accept those signed up for the 1 mile non-timed fun run and for those signed up for the 0-4 year old non-timed participation. Do NOT run through more than one finish line. No parking at the start of the race. Please park at Benton County Fairgrounds (1500 S. Oak Street, Kennewick, WA), Ben Franklin Transit buses will shuttle participants to the start. After the race at the 5K/10K finish, shuttles will then return participants to the Benton County Fairgrounds. Shuttles from fairgrounds to start: 7:00-8:15 am; shuttles from finish to fairgrounds: 10:00-11:30am. Packet pick up: Friday, December 20, 12-7pm, and Saturday, December 21, 7-8:30am at Neil F. Lampson Office Building, 607 E. Columbia Drive, Kennewick. Tradeshow will take place Friday, December 20 during race packet pick-up. Finisher medals will again be given to the first 2000 participants as they cross the finish line (must have bib number clear and visible as you cross the finish to receive your medal. Note: Non-timed 0-4 year olds will not receive a medal). The 5K and 10K races end at the Lampson/Dixon Shop (2300 East Crane Street, Pasco). Redmond, Washington (United States of America) - "Lake Sammamish Half Marathon". The 10th annual Lake Sammamish Half Marathon is a newly USATF CERTIFIED course that takes runners along the smooth trail that connects Marymoor Park in Redmond to Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. This interurban trail is very popular with runners; about 30% of the course will be on smooth gravel surface and 70% on pavement. We also offer a half-marathon walk category with a generous 4-hour time limit. This flat run is perfect for a half-marathon personal best whether you're running or walking! The race is chip-timed, and each racer will receive a custom bib, a finisher medal, a beanie and running gloves and sponsor products. Aid stations are provided every few miles with Clif gels/bloks, Nuun and water, and the finish line will be by the beach and includes a nice line up of food and music. Gorgeous course, largely on asphalt trails along the Columbia River. Cascade Mountain views abound. Full Marathon, Half, and 10k categories. Walkers welcome in all categories. The Wenatchee Marathon is operated by TedDriven, an organization that supports cancer research and local charities. Cancer research is a special interest of the directors. Everyone knows someone who has suffered through cancer, and your race directors, Lynda, Wendy & Ian, have all been directly impacted and are committed to doing their part to fight the disease. TedDriven donates proceeds from the Wenatchee Marathon to the cancer biology lab at University of Pennsylvania. This lab is making amazing progress in fighting solid tumors genetically.
