This is a great way for individuals and families to show support for, and solidarity with, the growing grassroots movement to make our communities and schools safer. Since 1983, Washington Ceasefire, a nonprofit organization, has been working towards implementing reasonable solutions to reduce the toll of gun violence in Washington State. Port Orchard, Washington (United States of America) - "Yukon Do It! Winter Edition". Run your last half or full marathon of the year along the waterfront in Port Orchard! The ONLY half and full marathons in town! Both the full and half marathons are USATF CERTIFIED! Flat and fast 5K & 10K out and back courses along Beach Drive can get you a PR! You know you want to ring that PR Bell! New this year! The Marathon Relay! It's time to grab your besties and sign up for the marathon relay! The relay is team division dividing the Marathon distance over five relay legs. The relay is an opportunity to run with friends and family, either competitively or just for the fun of it! Groups of 2-5 individuals can put together a team and cover the marathon distance as a relay. Teams must have a minimum of two members and a maximum of five members. Each member must run one full leg, but any member can run up to three legs that must be run consecutively. There are five relay legs of varying distances from 2 to 7.25 miles (distances are approximate), as follows: Leg 1 7.5 miles, Leg 2 6.25 miles, Leg 3 5 miles, Leg 4 2 miles, Leg 5 6 miles. Each team will receive the same bib number, and it doesn't matter which team member wears which bib. Bibs should be worn on the front and be clearly visible. All races start and finish at the Port Orchard Waterfront Park and run along Beach Drive. Shoreline, Washington (United States of America) - "Monster Mash Dash 5k". The Monster Mash Dash is a family 5K fun run and walk along Shoreline's Interurban Trail. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the best costume in each age group as well as best group costume. The race will not be officially timed, but will be officially fun. The race follows the southern half of the Interurban Trail. Distances are marked for families who would rather complete a shorter distance than the full 5K. www.shorelinewa.gov/5k
