Auburn, Washington (United States of America) - "Barkfest & Rover Romp". Support the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals by joining us for a 2020 VIRTUAL Barkfest & Rover Romp for the entire month of August from August 1 to August 31, 2020! Show your support by walking, running, or exercising at any locations of your choice: around the block (keeping safety and social distancing in mind), in a park, in your living room or backyard, or even on the treadmill or bike! During this time, we have lost revenue from closing the Animal Shelter, having no adoptions and services, closing the Thrift Store, and canceled events. Because of Barkfest & Rover Romp, we are able to help hundreds of lost and homeless animals each year. As a result of the 2019 Barkfest & Rover Romp, over 2,200 animals were able to receive shelter, medical and dental care, microchip, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and loving care to allow them to be adoptable. We have provided 77 families with medical care through our Public Veterinary Assistance Fund and 12 families have been helped by the Pets in Crisis Program. Additionally, this year, 50 pets will be helped through Pets Without Me. Children and families will continue to learn responsible pet ownership, learn pet responsibility, learn dog training or read to the shelter cats through our humane education programs. Funds raised at Barkfest & Rover Romp will allow us to continue our lifesaving efforts and continue to provide human services and human education programs. While Barkfest & Rover Romp will look different this year, we will together, help the animals in our community. Create a team or donate. Tell your friends and family to join your efforts. Share why you are walking or running for the animals and share the impact the funds that will be raised will have in our community. Share why fundraising for the abandoned animals is important to you. As someone who cares deeply about animals, your support is needed more than ever now! Together, we can help the animals in need and help provide them with safe shelter and lifesaving care. Throughout the month, we will have virtual contests, raffles as well as demonstrations. We will update the schedule on our website. Don't forget to take a photo or video of your walk or run with your pooch. www.auburnvalleyhs.org/barkfest-rover-romp
