"Hopelink's Turkey Trot" is a fun 5k walk through downtown Kirkland on Sunday, November 18, 2001 with festivities starting at 12 pm. Your registration fee of $15 will cover the cost of a turkey for Hopelink's foodbanks this holiday season. Costumes and themed turkey teams are highly encouraged. Bring your co-workers, bring your family, bring your pet as we all walk for a great cause. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. The registration desk will be located at the Marina Pavillion at Marina Park (25 Lakeshore Plaza, downtown Kirkland). Though not required, we encourage all participants to collect pledges. Individuals who collect $150 in pledges will receive a Hopelink T-Shirt. Pledge payments are due the day of the event at registration. Since 1971, Hopelink has helped homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilites. Our goal is to help people move from crisis to self-sufficiency, helping them make lasting change in their lives. Hopelink runs efficiently by keeping expenses low; with administrative costs at only eight percent of our budget, a full 92% of financial support goes directly to helping familes in crisis and preventing homelessness. During November 2000, Hopelink was able to provide 2,009 families with food for Thanksgiving dinner.
