The Marathon morning begins downtown at historic Fort Calgary. From there, you will run through the Calgary Zoo where you will be the first guests of the day. The route then meanders through Little Italy, friendly neighborhoods, and beautiful parks and passes Pumphouse Theatre. You will run beside the majestic Bow River and head to the riverside Eau Claire Market. Then it is just a short run to our western-style finish chute. Along the way, you will find hundreds of terrific volunteers to cheer you on, live entertainment and 13 aid stations. This course is certified and sanctioned by Athletics Alberta. The course is open for 5.5 hours.
