The Concept Challenge is a special running of the "Cool 100" wilderness ultra marathon on the Karelian Isthmus of North West Russia. The 100 mile course is run in extreme winter conditions and over rough terrain, following the narrow pine forest paths and trails winding between beautiful lakes and rocks, crossing streams and small rivers, and crossing the ice of some of the frozen lakes. The participants will meet in St Petersburg on Friday 3rd October and may take a tour of the city which is currently celebrating its 300 year anniversary. In the morning of Saturday 4th October the participants will be transferred to the historical town of Priozersk to the start of the course. The race will commence at 13.00, and will close at 19.00 on Sunday 5th October. The participants have the chance to take in the local attractions at the race's finish in the remarkable and historical city of Vyborg before being transferred back to St Petersburg on Monday 6th October.
