THOMPSONVILLE, MICHIGAN – Friends of the Betsie Valley District Library, with the support of Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa, are pleased to announce the sixth annual Betsie Valley Half-marathon, 10K Run/Walk, 5K Run/Walk , and Child’s Mile on Sunday, October 2, 2011.
Beautiful Benzie County will again showcase its unique wooded topography to participants of all ages and abilities. All events feature some of most spectacular scenery in the lower peninsula. The entire region is extending a heartfelt welcome—you won’t want to miss it!
Runners and walkers can choose to participate in a 5K (3.1 mile), 10K (6.2 mile) or certified half-marathon (13.1 mile) distance, and children can get a workout in the family-friendly one mile event. Adult runs and walking events begin at 9 a.m. at Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa with the Child’s Mile starting at 11:30 a.m. All proceeds go to support the Betsie Valley Library.

Betsie Valley registration is $35 for the half-marathon and $30 for all other events. Seniors 65 or older on the day of the race are $25, and the Child’s Mile is $5. Add $5 to register on the day of the event (excluding the Child’s Mile).
