McLennan's Grit 12-hour Ultra Trail Run & Relay is a trail running event that brings challenge, camaraderie, and friendly competition together in British Columbia's beautiful Okanagan Valley. Athletes can race McLennan's Grit solo, as a 2-person team, or as a team of 3 to 6 athletes. Participants of all abilities may run or walk the 5 km trail loop through the natural habitat of Mount Conkle Park completing as many laps as they want in the 12-hour time frame. On Saturday, June 7th, Vancouver will join cities across Canada for the Give a Breath 5K in a forested trail in the beautiful Pacific Spirit Park. Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in Canada - but remains underfunded and stigmatized. Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) - "Vesta Properties Longest Day Road Race". A Run for the whole Family! Enjoy a Friday evening run with the whole family followed by fun and games for the kids, music by "Norwegian Blue", a full BBQ meal, on-site pub, and great draw prizes, all the while helping to support the work of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Elementary age track and field programs. Choose between the VESTA PROPERTIES 10k or 5k and the Kid's Mile. The run takes place at UBC on Friday, June 14th and follows a scenic loop of the campus. The fun starts at 6:30pm with the Kid's Mile, and the Vesta Properties 5k and 10K at 6:45pm and 7:00pm respectively. Valemount, British Columbia (Canada) - "The Alpenglow 100". The Alpenglow 100 offers three race distances, incorporating two local mountains, McKirdy & Swift, topping out at over 2300 meters / almost 8000ft. The high alpine offers sightline views over Mt. Robson to the North, The Premier’s Range to the west, endless Rockies Peaks to the east, plus the Monashees and Kinbasket Lake to the south. Your head will be on a swivel, and you’ll want to pack your camera along! Alpenglow is the phenomenon of refracted sunlight hitting mountain slopes after the sun has dipped below the horizon, or before it has crested the horizon, pre-sunrise or post-sunset. It creates an unexpected glow on high mountain peaks with the landscape below receiving very little light comparatively. Alpenglow is beautiful, and so are you, and so are these races!
