Valemount, British Columbia (Canada) - "The Alpenglow 100". The Alpenglow 100 offers three race distances, incorporating two local mountains, McKirdy & Swift, topping out at over 2300 meters / almost 8000ft. The high alpine offers sightline views over Mt. Robson to the North, The Premier’s Range to the west, endless Rockies Peaks to the east, plus the Monashees and Kinbasket Lake to the south. Your head will be on a swivel, and you’ll want to pack your camera along! Alpenglow is the phenomenon of refracted sunlight hitting mountain slopes after the sun has dipped below the horizon, or before it has crested the horizon, pre-sunrise or post-sunset. It creates an unexpected glow on high mountain peaks with the landscape below receiving very little light comparatively. Alpenglow is beautiful, and so are you, and so are these races!
