"Run for 9-1-1" is an annual charity 5K run (or walk) to benefit #ThankYou911, an initiative of NENA, the National Emergency Number Association. #ThankYou911 encourages public support and recognition of 9-1-1 professionals, the unsung heroes of public safety, by generating essential funds to provide scholarships, continuing education opportunities, and wellness programs for 9-1-1 professionals across the United States. This is an afternoon event held at Shingle Creek Park, with the race starting at Shoreline Park, 200 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802. Race day schedule includes packet pick-up starting at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K race beginning at 8:00 a.m. Early bird registration is $25 for both the 5K, with general registration at $30, and $40 for Thursday and race day Friday. Your official time begins when you cross the timing mat at the start line, so no need to rush at the gun—your personal race time starts when you do! Kilometer markers will be placed along the course. Emigrant Gap, California (United States of America) - "Signal Peak Trail Runs". Come see the beautiful Bear Valley and Lake Spaulding! The summit of Signal Peak provides amazing views of both the South Yuba River and the North American River Canyons! This is an out-and-back course with a loop at the east end, which summits Signal Peak. These courses should not be underestimated. Signal Peak OHV Rd, in particular, has some very rocky sections. If you have bad ankles, this may not be the race for you. That said, between the vert and technical challenges, and the incredible scenery, this will surely be an epic event you will not forget!
