The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time. Official results are posted for the top runners in each category. Race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on the race website. You cannot use your own race chip or tag; you will be provided with a custom chip. Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes are guaranteed a race t-shirt. Qualified emergency medical professionals are available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines. Dogs are allowed. Strollers are allowed; please start in the latter part of the runners. The Jackalope Jam is a 6-hour, 12-hour, 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, and 100-hour timed event where you record the greatest distance possible during your chosen duration while running, walking, hiking, or competing in our separate ruck divisions. New in 2025, you can also compete as a 2–6 person team in the 24-Hour Relay. Every participant receives a medal, and solo competitors completing 100 kilometers or more earn a buckle. The event is held at 7IL Ranch, which offers open access all week, course-side camping, great facilities, and beautiful landscape. The out-and-back course is exactly 2 miles (one mile out, one mile back) on a short-grass/gravel farm road, with one main aid station at the start/finish fully stocked with a Texas-sized ultra buffet, including real food for overnighters. Runners are encouraged to set up their own tent and support area along the course. It is common for runners to take long rest breaks, sleep, or even leave and return later to complete more miles. Only fully completed laps count toward distance, with medals awarded for sub-100k distances and bonus patches for ruck participants. Relay pricing and format allow each additional team member to trigger a $10 refund for previous members. All members pay the same amount, with larger teams reducing the per-person fee. The relay is open format with no designated order or number of laps per member; exchanges can only occur at the start/finish after completed laps. Team changes must be finalized by the captain before registration closes. Teams can compete in all-male, all-female, or coed divisions (minimum 2 female).
