Sorrento, Florida (United States of America) - "PawPals 4 Life 5k". Presented by Pawfields Enrichment Group, the PawPals 5k offers both an in-person race on October 4, 2025, and a virtual option from October 1 through October 31, 2025. Run or walk entirely off-road in recognition of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month in support of the ASPCA. A limited number of in-person participants are allowed, so act now to secure your spot. We are on a mission to provide a fuller and more enriching life for our PawPals—a source of joy and comfort for us PawRents. With your participation and help, we can accomplish this task, keeping our eyes peeled, ears tuned, noses up, and paws forward to a better tomorrow with humankind’s best friends. If we have learned anything, it is this: Aston and Nova are not “pets”; they are family, members of our household, our ride-or-dies, our PawPals for life. Our transition into PawRents taught us that enrichment was an essential part of their development and well-being, from engaging in their training as a bonding strategy to encouraging socialization as a way to reveal their personalities and create independence. Our PawPals require dedication from us as much as they dedicate themselves to us. We aim to provide a space where PawRents and PawPals can come together for a PawFect cause: to instill hope in us all and help save lives while also encouraging social interaction among our friends, with the passion of life shown through affection, loyalty, and service for one another—PawRents and PawPals alike. All PawRents (human participants) will receive the official race t-shirt, finisher medal, and entrance into the state park. All PawPals (dogs) registered for the race will receive a matching dog medal, race bandana, and entrance into the park with in-person participants. Virtual participants will have until the end of October to complete their race and upload results, with mobile app details sent closer to race day. Proceeds benefit the ASPCA. The race takes place at Rock Springs Run State Reserve Trail, 30601 Wekiva River Road, Sorrento, FL 32776, with updated entrance access via Rock Springs Reserve Road and Wekiva River Road. Pets must be kept on a six-foot handheld leash, and Florida law requires rabies vaccinations. For more information, visit the Florida State Parks pet policy and Rock Springs Run State Reserve website. Packet pickup begins at 7:00 am on October 4, with the race starting at 8:00 am. Awards go to the top 3 male and female overall finishers and the top 3 in each age group from 7 & under through 90+. Shirts are guaranteed for early registrants until sizes sell out. Entry to the park for the participant and one guest is included with registration. Race timing will be provided with a disposable bib chip for in-person runners, and virtual participants can upload results through the mobile app. Additional race swag is available through the PawPals or Pawfields Swag Collection, with 10% savings on registration using the included promo code. Space is limited for both in-person and virtual participants, so register today to secure your spot and receive the official race shirt and medal, plus matching medal and bandana for your PawPal. https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/Sorrento/PawPalsLifeK
