Maneybhanjang, Darjeeling (India) - "Himalayan 100 K Stage Race". The Himalayan Run & Trek Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race has often been described as the most spectacular running course in the world. During the race, participants enjoy views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga - four of the world’s five highest peaks. Regardless of your ability level - whether you are a 10K runner, marathoner, or ultra-marathon enthusiast - you can run at your own pace. There are no age limits or stage cutoff times. The race consists of five daily stages of 24, 20, 26, 13, and 17 miles, designed for middle-distance runners. Alternating between running and walking, participants can take in breathtaking mountain views, spot wildlife in Sandakphu National Park, and chat with villagers at fully stocked aid stations spaced every few miles. The first stage involves running 24 miles on trails to the village of Sandakphu at 12,000 feet, with over 10,000 feet of altitude gain. The second stage is a 10-mile out-and-back trail to Molle, offering stunning views of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu. The third stage spans 26 miles, passing Molle and descending to Rimbik at 6,350 feet. The fourth stage covers 13 miles, while the fifth stage features 17 miles along scenic rural roads. The 100-mile course traverses isolated jungles, pine forests, small settlements, villages, and major rivers, with chances to spot yaks, wild ponies, and the Red Panda at higher elevations. Meals are fully catered at each overnight stop, with accommodations in rustic mountain huts. Frequently described as the "Most Scenic Race in the World," the event offers panoramic views of the Himalayas.
