Needville, Texas (United States of America) - "Brazos Bend 100". Sponsored by Altra Running. Western States 100 Lottery Qualifier (sub 30 hour 100-mile) with 98 qualifiers in 2024! This is the December edition of our popular Brazos Bend races with the marquee event being the 100-mile. The Brazos Bend 100 is the largest trail race in Texas and one of the fastest trail races in the world on flat and smooth trails with incredible support from four aid stations per loop. The top 3 were under 16 hours in 2024. The course is 99.9% flat, and the only "hill" is a 10-foot rise over 0.1 of a mile. The rest of the ~16.7mi loop is flat surfaces that move from hard crushed rock, soft hiking trails under tree canopy, and smooth horse trails. Most runners get away with a road shoe. Conditions in December can have a mix of anything but are typically great for running. Brazos Bend is a spectacular State Park located just South of Houston/Sugar Land and is most known for its abundance of birds and American Alligators among other wildlife. The gators are a part of our race; there has never been an incident in the parks 50 year history. Enjoy them on your run, from a distance, and you may get some unique race photos! Wilmington, North Carolina (United States of America) - "Wilmington Historic Half, 10K & 5K". The 8th Annual Wilmington Historic Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will take place on Saturday December 6th, 2025. Starting in the heart of downtown, runners will take a beautiful, closed course through the streets as they see the true southern beauty in Historic Wilmington, North Carolina. After 2.5 miles of downtown running, the 5K splits off to the boardwalk to finish while the Half Marathon will continue straight over 3 bridges and around a scenic lake before finishing down one of the nation's top-rated boardwalks! The 10K splits after the third bridge and heads down the boardwalk to the finish line! Packet Pick-Up: We are thrilled to announce Lumina on Wrightsville Beach as our Packet Pickup Sponsor! Join us from 12-6pm on Friday 12/5 at Lumina on Wrightsville Beach (1706 N. Lumina Ave, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480) to grab your packet and check out our local vendors! Course Information: All 3 courses are certified and sanctioned. The time limit for the 5K is 90 minutes and 3.5 hours for the 10K & Half Marathon. If you are interested in completing the Historic Challenge you must be able to complete your 5K in under 45 minutes or less and make your way back to the Starting Line by 7:45am. (There will be NO late starts for the Half Marathon). No one without a bib is allowed on the course at any time. No dogs, companion bikes, scooters, rollerblades or motorbikes are allowed on course.
