Cape Town, Western Cape (South Africa) - "Central Athletics 10km Nature Run and 5km Fun Run". Central Athletics would like to invite you to enjoy a unique running or walking experience through the scenic False Bay Nature Reserve Headquarters in Zeekoevlei. The event takes place on Sunday, 21 December 2025 in a scenic controlled environment to ensure that you enjoy a safe and unforgettable experience in nature in your own backyard. The False Bay Nature Reserve is situated between False Bay and Table Bay, 23 kilometers from Cape Town's city center. It consists of about 50% permanent wetland and 49% terrestrial vegetation. It contains two lakes, Rondevlei, which is a protected area reserve, and Zeekoevlei which is a residential area and popular yachting, canoeing, and windsurfing venue. The reserve is home to 241 bird species and 256 species of indigenous plants including two endemic plant species currently listed as extinct in the wild, namely Erica turgida and Erica verticillate. Recreational activities such as fishing, water sports, and picnics are also offered. The route is around 80% off-road road but is completely runnable with no technical sections. It will be clearly marked with kilometer boards and directional arrows from start to finish. Please note this is CARRY YOUR OWN RACE. There will be TWO REFRESHMENT stations.
