The New River Gorge Rim to RimRace will be a running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in the adventure sports capital of West Virginia, Fayetteville. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim side pool with a catered brunch. The course will begin on the south side of Fayette Station Road and finish at Adventures on the Gorge. Racers should prepare for a decent of 1300 ft and a climb of 1300 ft with the steepest point being a 20% incline. The finish line will bring racers to the rim of the gorge with an overlook photo opportunity. Racers are welcome to walk the course but must maintain a 20 minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road time frame. The run begins in the quaint and hilly town of Augusta. After touring around the quiet, hilly, historical streets, you head down to the Katy Trail for some flat, fun miles. The 5k and 10k turn around and head back while the half marathoners will enter Klondike Park and enjoy the beautiful, paved trails. After looping around the unique park, runners head back to amazing Augusta to finish. The finish line will include local businesses, light snacks, and an award ceremony at the park adjacent to Mount Pleasant Winery.
