Westville, Indiana (United States of America) - "Love is Love 5k Run/Walk". Proceeds from the race benefit LGBTQ+ Outreach of Porter County. Race is held at Bluhm County Park 3855 South 1100 West, Westville, IN 46391. Run and Walk start at 8:00 am Central. Packet pick-up, race day sign-ups and post-race snacks will be at the shelter near the parking lot of the park. We are doing old school timing for runners in the race. After finishing you will receive a popsicle stick with a number on it. That is your overall place in the race please turn-in that stick ASAP to the volunteers at the shelter. If you are in the top three in your age group, you will receive your medal after turning the stick in. No formal awards ceremony. Runners please place your bib on the front of your shirts. All runners/walkers will be starting at the same time. We will start across the street from the parking lot. We need walkers in the back and runners in front. Please seat yourself based on pace. The water stop will be at the 1.5-mile mark, and this is also your turn around point. You will follow the same route back to the finish. Snacks, water and Powerade will be available at the shelter after you finish. There will be old Crazy Legs Race Series items for sale for $10 with the proceeds going to LGBTQ+ Outreach of Porter County. The purpose Crazy Legs Race Series (CLRS) is to promote non-pavement/pavement races in the Northwest Indiana region through the development and management of new and existing races. At all our events you will experience fun and challenging course design in a low-key atmosphere. Races will be held in parks or areas in the Lake, Porter and Laporte counties. The Crazy Legs Race Series welcomes and encourages participation in our events by all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression. Transgender runners may register as the gender they identify with and there is no documentation needed. The Crazy Legs Race Series would like to begin by acknowledging that the land on which we host our races is the seized territory of the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations. The Theron Rogerson Scholarship Fund is a $2,000 annual scholarship to a GHS male student athlete. This fund will highlight the risk of suicide. Theron found so much joy in life with an eye on the future, which made his choice so shocking and the reverberations through the community so deep. Join us Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am for an outdoor walk/run rain or shine along the perimeter of the Chicago Ridge Mall to support brain tumor/cancer patients, scholarships, and research (enter off 99th Street Ridgeland Ave. to access the South Parking Lot of Dick's Sporting Goods). Olympic Valley, California (United States of America) - "Olympic Valley Half Marathon and 8 Miler". The Olympic Valley Half Marathon and 8 Miler start and finish at the iconic Village at Palisades Tahoe, site of the historic 1960 Winter Olympics. The course is fast and flat, a scenic out and back featuring mainly paved trail through the valley and along the Truckee River.
