Brentwood, Tennessee (United States of America) - "Shelli Huether Veterans Day Honor Run, Walk, and Ruck". Join us Saturday, November 8 in Brentwood, TN (Nashville area) for the Veterans Day Honor Run, Walk, and Ruck. You can register for the 5k, 10k, or 8-hour ultra marathon, with all races beginning at 8:00am. The course is a 0.8-mile loop around Granny White Park, and if you register for the 8-hour ultra marathon, the goal is to walk, run, or ruck as many loops as possible in that time frame. This is a chip-timed race. There are also 4-member relay team registrations available for the 8-hour ultra, with options to run, walk, or ruck, and one person on each team participates at a time. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners. The 0.8-mile paved loop circles the beautiful Granny White Park and includes a few gentle hills, with temperatures in early November typically ranging from the 30s to the 60s. This event was created to honor Lieutenant Colonel Shelli Huether, who, along with Captain Jessica Wright and Senior Master Sergeant Scott Bumpus, tragically died in a plane crash in McMinnville, TN, on September 8, 2020. Shelli had a servant’s heart, volunteering countless hours with the USO, Operation Stand Down, and many other charities and organizations, and she was also an avid runner who constantly set new goals for herself. This race and fundraiser aim to honor Shelli and all veterans while raising money for incredible charities in her name. www.shellihuetherhonorrun.com
