Gainesville, Florida (United States of America) - "Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Dash and Bash". Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Dash & Bash: Supporting Pediatric Trauma Services at UF Health will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Stadium North Lawn, 157 Gale Lemerand Dr., Gainesville, FL 32611. The event includes a 5K race around the University of Florida, passing UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, followed by a post-race bash. Along the route, partners and community members will engage participants through cheer zones. The bash, held in conjunction with the Pediatric Trauma Injury Prevention & Outreach team, celebrates National Trauma Awareness Month with entertainment, activities, and community safety partners. All participants will receive a finisher medal and t-shirt if registered by May 1. Participants are encouraged to join as fundraisers to support UF Health Shands Children's Hospital, a nonprofit that relies on community support to provide life-saving equipment, fund research, and maintain support programs. The day-of-event schedule is as follows: registration opens at 7:00 a.m., warm-up at 7:30 a.m., pre-race remarks at 7:45 a.m., race and bash begin at 8:00 a.m., awards ceremony at 8:45 a.m., and bash concludes at 12:00 p.m. Shirts are guaranteed for those registered by May 1. Awards will be given to top male, female, and non-binary participants in multiple age groups. Packet pick-up is available at UF Health Professional Park, 3300 SW Williston Rd., Gainesville, FL 32608 (Room B116), on Thursday, May 15 from 10:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and Friday, May 16 from 1:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m., or on race day starting at 7:00 a.m. Day-of registration and packet pick-up run from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Parking is available at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The chip-timed race will have live results posted online. The 5K course is 3.1 miles with some elevation changes. All runners must use the provided chip for official timing. Results will be posted online and are available on-site. Custom chips must be used; personal chips are not allowed. Only those registered by May 1 are guaranteed a t-shirt. Emergency medical professionals will be available. Dogs are not allowed, but strollers are welcome with caution. Participants are encouraged to bring water, though stations will be available. Registration is non-refundable, and no transfers are allowed. The event is rain or shine, with recommendations to dress accordingly. The Med City Marathon Half Marathon presented by Active PT starts in by the RST airport which is about 8 miles away from Rochester and is a point to point marathon. You start the day by taking a bus from downtown Rochester by the Mayo Civic Center to the airport (or drive if you like). You run on Country Club Road with the marathoners and the 20 milers for the first 6 miles. The half marathon is one of the fastest half marathons in MN and is all a flat/down hill to the finish. The race runs the zumbro river trails and treelined neighborhoods. Enjoy an epic finish right in the heart of downtown, with a closed off downtown area. Thurmond, West Virginia (United States of America) - "Highball to Thurmond Ultra & Relay". The highball was used in early railroads to signal the track was clear. When the ball was hoisted, trains were cleared to proceed! We are raising the ball on this unique 50 Mile & 50K event, encouraging athletes to proceed on this epic destination trail race adventure. Participants will run through New River Gorge National Park and finish in Thurmond, West Virginia. With a population of 5 at the 2010 census, it is the least populated railroad town in the nation. Participants in all events can choose to take the train back to the 50 Mile start line.
